About Painted Look

Painted Look is a small design site with a nail design studio. Pick a nail shape, a base color, a pattern and an accent color, see the design drawn on five nails, and get the steps, the difficulty level and an honest time estimate. Every drawing is made by us.

What it does today

The studio offers 5 nail shapes, 16 polish colors and 11 patterns, from a solid color to a marble swirl. Each pattern has a score: Beginner up to 2, Easy 3, Intermediate 4. A first-time painter’s time is our own estimate, 20 minutes for a plain two-coat manicure with drying plus extra minutes for the pattern, from 8 for dots to 25 for a floral. You can print the recipe card or copy it.

How we checked it

We opened the studio in Chrome and tried every shape with every pattern, with the pattern on all nails and on the accent nail only: 110 combinations. For each we compared the level and the minutes with the rules above, and checked that five nails were drawn and the steps and shopping list were filled in: no differences. We also printed the recipe card to PDF in Letter and A4: one page each.

What Painted Look does not do

We do not use photos from social media or other sites, we do not give medical advice and we do not sell products. Times are estimates, not measurements. Test a small patch of skin before you try a new product.
