      Worked example: polka dots

Tap “Polka dots”. The studio paints oval nails in Nude with White dots, and shows Beginner and about 30 minutes: 20 minutes for a plain two-coat manicure with drying, plus 10 for the dots. The steps are:

      1. File nails to a oval shape, push back cuticles and apply a thin base coat.
      2. Paint two coats of the base color and let them dry fully.
      3. Dip a dotting tool or toothpick in the accent color and press dots in rows.
      4. Let the dots dry, then seal with top coat.
      5. Finish with top coat and wrap the free edge.

      Tips for a first manicure

      • Start with one color and two thin coats. Thin coats dry faster and look smoother than one thick coat.
      • Use a toothpick or a dotting tool for dots, and press straight down without dragging.
      • Put glitter or a pattern on one accent nail first, then add the others once you are comfortable.
      • Always finish with top coat, and let each layer dry before the next.

      How we checked it

On 20 October 2026 we tapped each of the 6 looks in Chrome and compared the level and the minutes with the studio rules for pattern difficulty: 6 looks, no differences. The recipe card prints on one page.

      Skin and safety

Test a small patch of skin before you use a new polish or remover, work in a ventilated room and keep products away from eyes and cuts. Stop if your skin gets red, itchy or swollen. This is design inspiration, not medical advice; see the disclaimer.

      Frequently asked questions

What is the easiest nail art for beginners?

A single color is the easiest, followed by glitter and polka dots. In the studio all three are Beginner level.

How long does easy nail art take?

About 20 to 30 minutes including drying by our estimate for a first-time painter; your time may differ.

      Do I need special tools?

Not for a single color or glitter. Dots need a dotting tool or a toothpick, and a French tip needs a thin brush or tape guide.

      Can I change a look?

Yes. After tapping a look, change the shape, the pattern or the colors, and the steps and time update.
